Kpop diets: Chanmi (AOA)

AOA Chanmi

Chanmi started this diet because she wanted to look and feel healthy, not just be skinny. It’s a long-term diet (lifestyle change) that you can incorporate into your daily routine at least 4 times per week. Chanmi allows for one cheat day a week where you can eat anything you want so you don’t torture yourself.

166 cm / 5 ft. 5 inches
​47 kg / 103.6 lbs

She doesn’t specify what to have for breakfast and lunch, but following her dinner format, I would say divide each meal into 1/3 protein, 1/3 vegetables/fruits, and 1/3 whole grains/unrefined carbs. 

Protein examples:
  • chicken breast
  • Egg
  • Turkey
  • Fish (white fish especially, like cod, halibut, and tilapia)
  • Tofu
  • Beans (black beans, chickpeas)


Whole grain/unrefined carbs examples:
  • Oatmeal
  • Brown Rice
  • Whole grain bread/pasta
  • Quinoa
  • Sweet potatoes/Yams


Dinner: Chicken Breast with Vegetables (2 servings)
  • 1 chicken breast, diced (1”) [you can also try other types of lean meats, such as turkey, fish, or beef and pork)
  • 1 bell peppers, diced (1”)
  • 1 tsp. Oil
  • 1/4 onion, diced
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 3/4-1 cup cooked brown rice, for each serving


Heat the oil in the frying pan, then add the diced chicken breast. Once the chicken forms a white outer layer, add the vegetables. Cook until chicken is cooked all the way through, then serve with rice. 


Snacks
  • Vellanc Chu: Low calorie ice cream (all the servings are under 80 calories)
  • Think A Body: Low calorie noodle dishes (around 210 calories per serving)

You don’t have to get these specific brands, but search around for low-calorie snacks. I’ll post a blog post soon on some of my favourites low-calorie snacks and recipes. 

Workout: Lower Body - 10 reps of each
  • Deadlifts with Kettlebell
  • Squat
  • Deadlifts with Barbell (no weight attached)
  • Deadlifts with Barbell (10 lbs. attached)
  • Deadlift with Barbell and Backwards Leg Extension (check it out in this video at 2:40)
  • Walking lunges with Dumbbells
  • Donkey kicks
